Fun Classes at BYU

Registration is here! There are many classes we have to take. Statistically, students do worse during the winter semester due to one problem or another.

However, having a fun class here and there can help relieve the stress from the strenuous required classes to graduate. For this reason, here are some fun classes to sign up for.

Staying Active

If you like to be physically active, there are plenty of classes that are available. There are countless SWELL classes from Ultimate Frisbee to Meditation. There are also plenty of dance classes of all styles. Personally, I have taken Social Dance and Latin Dance classes. All of these classes are great for staying physically active.

Music and the Arts

If you are more of a music and the arts fan, there are plenty of classes here as well. If you want to do the music and the arts minor, there is a class for each of the following: dance, music, art, and theatre. All of these are fun classes to take, and work towards the minor. You can also sign up for music classes such as vocal skills, intro to guitar or piano, and even a song writing class. There are plenty of art and theatre and media arts classes you can take as well.

Major Focus

If you are looking to focus solely on your major, there are some fun classes and teachers to take classes from as well. For elementary education, you do have to take a couple PETE classes (PETE 169 and PETE 212), both of which are very fun. There is also a children’s literature class that you can take, but most people’s favorite professor for that class is Professor Ricks.

Have any questions? Come see one of our McKay Ambassadors in the McKay Commons on Mondays at 11am-1pm, Tuesdays at 1pm-3pm, and Wednesdays at 12pm-2pm. If those times don't work, click HERE to schedule an appointment with a student ambassador and to learn more.
