Hello!!
Today we wanted to talk about one of the requirements for applying to any of the education programs. You will be fingerprinted in order to gain an FBI clearance. Fingerprinting is an important part of the application process and is often one that students can find intimidating. But, no need to fear! The process is actually super easy!

All you do is fill out a little questionnaire online, and then go get fingerprinted. The McKay School has its own office (MCKB 350) that offers this service. For a step by step guide to getting your fingerprinting done, go here.
There are a few items that you need to bring with you to MCKB 350 to get fingerprinted.
Your authorization form (can be printed out after you fill it out online)
A photo ID
Your U.S. Social Security card
A picture of your actual card will suffice
If you are currently or have been employed by BYU, a U.S. Social Security card is not necessary
The advisement center is open Monday through Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (except holidays and during devotionals held on Tuesdays from 10:45 a.m. to 12:15 p.m.)
Why is this necessary in order to apply to any of the education programs? This clearance permits you to go into the schools to observe and work. This way your teachers, the teachers at the schools, and anyone else, can see that you have been cleared by the FBI to work with children without a problem.
