The world is full of diversity. We are each shaped by different backgrounds, cultures, perspectives, and experiences. Education is also diverse with a variety of ways to learn, create, and teach.
We were created as unique children of God with our own gifts and purpose. At the same time, each of us came to earth to learn. Our Savior Jesus Christ has taught us to seek knowledge. In Luke 2:52 we learn he did so himself where he "increased in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man". No matter who we are or where we come from we should be seeking a spiritual understanding while also developing mentally, socially, emotionally, and physically. This invitation to learn is not only to a select few, but to everyone around the world.

Education prepares us for life in a variety of ways. Learning to read, write, calculate, and experiment helps expand our mind. Education creates a space for creativity, problem solving, and insights that shape a lot of our world today. Through experiences in education children, adolescents, and adults can learn to collaborate, consider different perspectives, and create friendships.
One place that we can seek spiritual education is through general conference. These teachings are open to all and can help us in school and in our career. Recently President Oaks gave a talk about being a peacemaker. He shares that "Jesus Christ taught us how to relate to one another" through the two great commandments. Education creates the space and repeated opportunities throughout the day to engage in meaningful interactions that help us connect and relate to one another.

Education also opens up more opportunities. For a couple of summers I taught English online. I often asked my students why they wanted to learn English. Often their responses were that it would help them in their career or schooling, would help them gain confidence, or would help them to travel and find new opportunities. This not only applies to learning English but can apply to all types of education. Education creates opportunities to grow and reach goals. This benefits not only individuals but strengthens an entire community through more possibilities, inclusion, and involvement in society.
Education has the power to make a meaningful impact on everyone. God has blessed us with knowledge, and He also invites us to continue seeking more of it throughout our lives. In a recent general conference, Elder Wong taught that we should be “using our moral agency to act wisely every day”. Through both spiritual and secular education, we can deepen our understanding of the world and draw closer to God. Education is a gift given from God meant to be shared around the world.
