Hey there! My name is Sarah Wilde, and I am a sophomore majoring in Special Education with an emphasis in severe/profound disabilities. I am from Tremonton, Utah and I am the oldest of 6 kids!
One thing about me is that I love music. I play the flute/piccolo, trombone, piano, guitar, and ukulele. I love classical music and used to play in a symphony. I did concert, marching, and/or jazz band for 5 years in middle school and high school and loved every second of it! I also did a lot of plays and was involved in FCCLA and tennis.
I was first introduced to Special Education by my 2 brothers who have autism. Growing up, I saw the way their classrooms work and got to know their teachers and classmates. As soon as I was old enough, I started volunteering, subbing, and working as a paraprofessional (aide in special education classrooms) because I love it so much! I can't wait to be a Special Education teacher because I have seen how much a teacher can influence a child's life for good, and I want to be that person for someone else. I can't wait to start the Special Education program next year!
If you want to know more about the Special Education major, schedule a meeting with me here!
