Hello everyone!! My name is Mikaela Campbell and I am a Sophomore studying Early Childhood Education. My teaching journey started in a preschool class that I took in high school and the love I have for teaching has expanded greatly since then. I love being around young children and am fascinated to see how they learn, grow, play, and develop. It brings me so much joy to know that I can play an influential part in someone's life, especially at such a young age when there is the most opportunity for growth!

I am from a small town in Utah called Stansbury Park. I took a break from school to serve my mission in Lubbock Texas, which helped deepen my desire to teach as I taught the gospel of Jesus Christ to people of all ages! I'm happy to be back and continue with my classes here at BYU! I have two amazing younger brothers and I love spending time with my family, friends, and my dog Wall-E! Along with fellow Utahns, I also crave being in the mountains on a regular basis. When I’m not enjoying nature, I eagerly pick up a good book, bake, or go to a BYU football game.

Because I am a declared Early Childhood Education major, I am planning on teaching first and second graders. I am also minoring in TESOL K-12 so I can be able to have that positive influence on students of all ages if the opportunity arises. Teaching brings me joy, little can top the wonder in a child's eyes as they learn about the world or the smile they give when they feel valued, those moments are priceless!

HAVE ANY QUESTIONS ABOUT EDUCATION MAJORS?

Come meet with us during Ambassador Afternoons! If those times don't work, schedule an appointment here.
