Hello everyone! My name is Lauren Davis and I am a junior studying Early Childhood Education with hopes of having my own preschool in the future. I love teaching and am excited to share this passion with others while being a student ambassador for the McKay School.
I was born in Littleton, Colorado then moved to hot Gilbert, Arizona when I was 12. I have loved living in Utah as it reminds me of snowy Colorado. I come from a family of five, including an older sister in California and a younger brother still in Arizona. I can't forget my dog Lacey, who I adore. I also served a full-time mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints during COVID-19; therefore, I was reassigned to Temple Square for a year and then finished my mission at my original mission call in Leeds, England. I loved and will forever cherish the experience I had and the people that I met on my mission.
Other than teaching, I love making new friends and spending time with friends. I think anything can be fun with the right group. I love hiking and camping and doing anything outdoors. I'm always looking for an adventure and something new to try. I also love to paint and do embroidery when I have some free time.
I have always had a love for teaching. Growing up, I would always make my younger cousins play "school" with me. Then in high school, I had the opportunity to take a class that allowed me to teach preschoolers. During that time, I discovered that teaching was what I wanted to do with my life. Ever since then, I have worked at multiple different daycares and preschools, gaining more experience, and falling more in love with teaching young students.
My plans for the future are to teach anywhere from preschool through second grade for a time. I would love to run a little at-home preschool of my own in my home. I think learning through play and real-life experiences are very important to a young child's development.
