What are Careers in Education Panels?
Updated: Jan 25
Once a year we invite local teachers, principals, and school board members to come and share what it's like to work in those fields. This is a great opportunity to understand a little more about these careers and what they entail. There will be a short time where they share their education history and what they currently do, and at the end, they will turn the time over for questions! This is a great networking opportunity and a fun place to get to know other local teachers.
I personally went to an education panel two years ago. I remember seeing posters about it and thought it would be fun, especially because of the free lunch! I showed up alone and ended up seeing a few people from my classes. I remember all of the panel members introducing each other and thinking how cool it was that BYU brings them here so that we can learn from them. I learned a lot about the workload that being a teacher or principal contains, but I also learned how rewarding it can be. That was my first semester at BYU and after that, I called to make an appointment with my advisor. A week later I had signed up for my major. Don't miss out on this opportunity to learn, because it is so worth it!
