Hi! My name is Alejandra Llanas (or Alex!) and I am senior studying Early Childhood Education. I have always loved working with kids, and I am really passionate about education. I am super excited to be working at the McKay School and hope to help others find their passion in teaching!
I was born and raised in McAllen Texas along with three younger brothers. I loved every moment of it, especially being 30 minutes away from Mexico and being able to be immersed in the Mexican culture! I absolutely love my family, and, as the oldest and only girl, I had some pretty unique experiences growing up. I now have my own cute family with an adorable golden-doodle puppy! Some of my favorite things to do are baking, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with my doodle and of course family and friends.
Since I can remember, I have wanted to be a teacher because I am passionate about helping students from disadvantaged communities succeed and reach their full potential. I want every student who goes through my classroom to feel empowered to achieve anything they set their minds to, just like some of my favorite teachers made me feel. I'm excited to nurture a supportive environment that can help my students grow!
