McKay School Classes

Here are some of my personal favorite classes I took in the Elementary Education Program:

ARTED 326: Art for Elementary Teachers

Preservice preparation designed to help art educators and elementary classroom teachers understand the visual arts and develop skills necessary for implementing an arts integrated approach for art education.

One of my favorite classes! You get to actually work and teach students while improving art skills!

EL ED 340 - Children's Literature

Trends and titles in children's and adolescent literature. Reading and critiquing as well as practical uses of children's literature in both school and home.

Your homework is reading children's books, which is a nostalgic and endearing experience.

PETE 169 - Elementary Skills & Activities

Physical skills and activities specific to elementary-age children.

You feel like you are back in a PE class again and you also get to learn amazing tips about managing students.

All of these class descriptions and more are to be found on BYU MyMAP
