Who do you turn to for help with choosing classes and mapping out a plan for graduation? Your Education Academic Advisor!
The Education Advisement Center for the McKay School of Education is located on the third floor of the McKay School in a glass room on the North end of the building (350 MCKB). There, you can meet with a student advisor, someone who works part time to help answer your questions and set up a meeting with your advisor. They are all really friendly and helpful. So, if you have any questions, you can start there!
If the student advisors and secretaries aren't able to help, you can set up an appointment with your advisor. I remember when I was setting up my graduation plan, I had a million problems. I went to my advisor and explained the issue, and she told me not to worry. She helped me come up with a plan that not only fixed all of the problems I had, but included a manageable schedule as well!
The advisors (from left to right) Brandan Beerli (PETE, El Ed last names A-C) , JaNeece Thacker (ECE, El Ed last names D-M), Kelly Newbold (Special Ed, El Ed last names N-Z), and Tara Goulding (Communication Disorders, Secondary Education) are all really amazing and willing to help.
So, if you are ever in need of some guidance, stop by the advising office to talk to one of the student advisors, or set up an appointment with your academic advisor!
The office is open from 8 AM to 5 PM Monday and Fridays, and 8 AM to 5:45 PM Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays. If you have questions you need answered before you arrive on campus, give them a call, 801-422-3426.
